                               GAMEDAY PREVIEW

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets vs Maryland Terrapins
Saturday, October 8, noon - Bobby Dodd Stadium, Atlanta
TV (espnu); Radio, 790 The Zone and True Oldies 106.7FM

By Don Stone - Tech Express

Tech is certainly on a roll. A 5-0 start will do that for you. Certainly, opening the season with dominating wins against the likes of Western Carolina and Middle Tennessee State didn't turn any heads. The 66-24 dismantling of Kansas got some attention. "Just wait until they get into the ACC portion of the schedule. No more cupcakes there," was heard from the skeptics. Well a 3-0 North Carolina team came to Atlanta and saw their fans head back home with a loss on their minds.
Now, the Yellow Jackets have a road trip victory in their pockets as well after visiting Raleigh, North Carolina and picking apart NC State.
Of course, they're not running up 60+ points on the most recent ACC teams, but a win is a win.
The schedule is looking good for the next few weeks as well. Up next is a 2-2 Maryland  team coming off a 28-3 win over lowly Towson. In their other three games, they have a nice road win in Miami 32-24, a close 31-37 loss to West Virginia and an embarrassing 7-38 loss to Temple.
It's a noon kickoff at Bobby Dodd Stadium. If you're not going to the game, catch it on ESPNU.

The radio broadcast team for Yellow Jacket football is headlined by play-by-play announcer
Wes Durham, the Voice of the Yellow Jackets since 1995. Joining Durham in the booth is former Rambling Wreck and NFL quarterback Rick Strom, who begins his third season as color analyst following three seasons as the sideline reporter. 790 The Zone's Jeff Woolverton completes the on-air crew serving as sideline reporter and co-host of "Yellow Jacket Countdown," the two-hour show that airs prior to every Georgia Tech football game. Each broadcast begins two hours prior to kickoff with "Yellow Jacket Countdown," featuring game previews, live guests and former players.
Following each game, Wes Durham will interview key players and coaches, and fans will get statistics and scores on "The Locker Room Show." Georgia Tech football games are also available on XM Satellite Radio on XM Channels 190-191 and 231-236.
